No-Dig Technology Pipe Restoration

Inversion Method & Cured in place Pipe Repairs

No-Dig Technology pipe restoration is called angioplasty for your drains because it mimics this medical procedure in which a balloon is used to open blockage in a coronary artery narrowed by disease. Just as the medical procedure improves blood flow to the heart, our plumbing technology ensures your system flows without obstruction.

First, a "Pre-op Inspection" is performed where a video camera examines the drain line to see its condition and establish the problem. The drain line is then prepared and a liner is inserted, thereby increasing flow while permanently eliminating the issues of root infiltration and old leaking plumbing pipes which may result in water contamination.

It's that simple! And like the medical procedure, your improved system or pipe restoration is up and running in no time. Along with eliminating the disruption and costly repairs to landscaping often associated with pipe restoration, No-Dig Technology pipe restoration also removes the risk and danger of damaged utility lines.

There are two methods of No-Dig Technology pipe restoration:

The Inversion Method Pipe Restoration

The Inversion method of pipe restoration works by inserting a sock liner filled with epoxy into the sewer. High pressure air is then blown down through the sewer to insert the liner and complete the job. This method of pipe restoration is used in the majority of sewer lines that qualify for liners. Inversion Method Pipe Restoration results are excellent! A smoothly lined sewer means pesky roots are eliminated.

Cured in place pipe (CIPP) or (PIP) Pipe Restoration

Thos. R. Birnie & Sons Ltd. is licensed to offer Formadrain® Inc. products. Developed in Canada, Formadrain ® is a revolutionary cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) pipe restoration technology that provides a jointless, seamless, pipe-within-a-pipe, eliminating infiltration and leaks in sewer systems without digging. Two woven fiberglass clothes are impregnated with resin and placed on a rubber tube or balloon. It is then inserted and directed through the damaged sewer line. This tube is then inflated with steam until it is cured and then removed, leaving a beautiful new pipe inside the old one, completing the process. This method of pipe restoration can provide the option of only lining the area that needs repair which may mean significant cost savings and flexibility. This trenchless process is a more environmentally friendly method than traditional "dig and replace" pipe restoration and keeps the landscape looking beautiful.

Because Thos. R. Birnie & Sons Ltd sewers & plumbing offers both No-Dig Technology pipe restoration plumbing solutions, we are able to diagnose and then suggest the method that best suits your needs! Both systems of pipe restoration come with excellent warranties. And remember, we have plumbers in Mississauga, Oakville, Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharine's and Niagara Falls.
